Prime Rib Recipe
Ingredients Needed:
– 3-4 pounds prime rib roast
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 2 teaspoons salt
– 2 teaspoons garlic powder
– 2 teaspoons dried thyme
– 2 teaspoons black pepper
– 1 onion, sliced
– 1 cup beef broth
Recipe Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.
2. Rub the prime rib roast with olive oil.
3. Combine the salt, garlic powder, thyme, and black pepper in a small bowl, and rub the mixture all over the prime rib.
4. Place the sliced onion in the bottom of a roasting pan.
5. Place the prime rib on top of the onions in the roasting pan.
6. Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
7. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil.
8. Place the roasting pan into the preheated oven and cook for 15 minutes.
9. Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F, and continue cooking for an additional 1 1/2 – 2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the prime rib reaches the desired cooking level:
– 125°F for rare
– 135°F for medium-rare
– 145°F for medium
– 155°F for medium-well
– 165°F for well-done
10. Once the desired internal temperature has been reached, remove the roasting pan from the oven and let the prime rib rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
