Our Story... Our Farm...

Established IN 1944

Four Generations of farming

The Landis family has been farming along Little Beaver Creek in Strasburg, PA since 1944. Our fresh, high quality meat comes from our very own herd of Black Angus cattle that freely graze over 38 chemical free acres of land. You purchase our beef directly from us and our goal is to make you happy you did.

A Family Owned Farm

March 13, 1944
Look What They Started
Myron and Nada Landis bought what Grandpa Christian Landis called “Trailcrest Farm” in 1944 soon after they married. The farm then consisted of a large barn and 2-story log farmhouse (both built in the late 1700’s), as well as a milkhouse and yes, even an outhouse which the family was still using up until the mid-1960’s!

The Second Generation Takes Charge

Several of Myron and Nada’s 7 children were born in the farmhouse, and all of them worked
together to raise cows, chickens, horses, pigs and other livestock over the years. In 1973 Myron and his youngest son Rich decided to try their hand at raising Black Angus beef on a small scale, just for the immediate family. Rich and his wife Edie took over the farm in 1995 and continued raising Black Angus cattle.

The Third Generation Jumps In
Finally, in 2022, Rich and Edie formed Trailcrest Farm, LLC with their grown children and expanded the herd to share their beef with others.

The Future Looks Bright
It seems the fourth generation of Landises is already showing some interest in taking over the farm someday. At least, that’s what 4 year old Ethan says. Time will tell about that, of course. Until that day comes, we plan to keep caring for our little bit of heaven in the heart of Lancaster County Pennsylvania and welcome every opportunity to share its bounty with you.

Grass-Fed & Finished, 100% Black Angus Beef

Quality, Black Angus Beef – From our farm to your table. Our meat is delicious because we raise our cattle right. Calves drink milk from their mothers for up to a year while snacking on fresh grasses. Their mommas enjoy that grass, too, along with the freedom to wade in the creek or rest in the shade of trees. Grass-fed cattle have less monosaturated fat than their grain-fed & finished counterparts. Both grass-fed and grain-fed cattle have high Omega-6 fatty acids, however grass-fed cattle have 5 times the Omega-3 fatty acids that help prevent heart disease, stroke, and inflammation.

Safe, Healthy, and Wholesome Products

We care about our cattle and we care about you. Our animals have plenty of fresh grass in the summer months and our own home-grown hay in the winter. There’s a creek for them to play in when it’s hot, and shelter to protect them from weather. With plenty of land to roam and a vet on call for emergency’s, our cattle are treated well and deeply appreciated.

Our meat is packaged by a local USDA butcher and properly handled and stored from beginning to end. From our beef to the fresh vegetables, eggs, and homegrown honey you’ll find in our farm stand over the summer, all we sell is processed with your safety in

and satisfaction in mind.
